Five crores for Rahman's slogan, that wasn't?

Did A R Rahman's 2010 CWG theme song enthuse the nation? A fair amount of people would say it didn't. "Jiyo Utho Bado Jeeto' didn't match up to Shakira's 'Waka Waka' which, other things apart, got millions humming it. The theme song didn't even prompt the kind of humming that Roja, Kehana Hi Kya from Bombay, Dil Se, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Taal and numbers from Kandukondain Kandukondain and Alaipayuthey or Rang De Basanti did. Jeeto lacked energy, verve, emotion and the catchy feel typical of the popular film circuit. There's not too much to say about 'Jai Ho' but Jeeto… didn't even do the sloganeering that Jai Ho did. Sometimes a song with something sounding like a slogan can sound very catchy. Even if Jai Ho may not exactly be an aesthetic phrase, it is repeatable and the very act of repeating it gives it the energy of sloganeering - shouting 'Bharat Zindabad' and 'Jai Ho' would be the same thing. And sometimes slogans work. They're catchy and full of life. But you can't even do the 'Zindabad' cry with Jeeto. So was the CWG theme worth the five crores? Well if it was anywhere close to Kehana Hi Kya or Dil Se or Chaiyya Chaiyya, part of the money could've been justified, lost as the expense would have in a million hummings.

So what's it about the last two numbers that Rahman hasn't got the country catching fire? The Oscar apart? (Its baffling and yet not baffling that the Oscar came to Jai Ho. Among a host of other things, the very fact that it was non-western may have earned it the award!) Is Rahman jaded? Is he mixing sounds in ways he's done too many times before? Is there a set pattern he's falling into so that freshness isn't showing in his new numbers?

Sachin Tendulkar comes to mind here. Everytime he walks in, people expect a 100. Everytime. But we've seen how human he is. He's had his downs and he's even acknowledged them. When a man's down, its easy to come down on him. When a man's up, its easy to say he's the best. People tore into Sachin for over two years. And then? He hit back and let the bat do the talking. He's just been voted cricketer of the year. Now is Rahman set for such a comeback? Some small obits about his popular musical skills have already begun to come in. People are beginning to come down on him. Now then would it take just one hit to sweep aside the obits? How about a Kehana Hi Kya again…

Lalu Prasad Yadav- Bihar polls will be the end of Lalu Rabri Era?

Well guys Lalu Prasad Yadav is a well known political face in India. He is a well known "Management Guru" overseas, as he taught management lessons to students of B-Schools. But unfortunately he failed to manage seats in Lok Sabha. He lost his post of cabinet minister as well as his pet state Bihar. This spectacular politician is fighting to restore his old legacy. The big question is, He will be able to get that legacy again? I think its a very tough job for his party this time. Nitish Kumar his rival in Bihar has at least given a peaceful environment in Bihar for the first time. Some of the people in Bihar see the downfall of LALU RABRI contingent as an End of a mess "JUNGLE RAAJ".
Though Nithish Government looked promising and they managed to finish the term peacefully. Bihar polls will the tell exactly what people have to say about JDU-BJP alliance. There are many factors that may effect the bihar polls. Lalu- Paswan Alliance will definitely try to cash Yadav-Muslim Vote bank. Congress is another factor, they may snatch some votes from both opposite alliance. Rahul Gandhi and even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is trying to mesmerize public by their bizarre dealings.
But if we talk about the ground votes it will be very difficult for opposition parties. People have changed their mind and they are insisting on matters of development rather than caste and reservations. If Lalu fails this time their might be a plight change in Bihar politics. Many of the close friends of Lalu have left him before elections, needless to say a cause to worry. If he fails he may extinct from national politics and some more friends may leave. If he wins, it will be a miracle to see.
